Princess Desiree of Sweden

When Princess Desiree of Sweden
married in 1964, she wore a magni-
ficently perfect cameo tiara. Fomally
belonging to Empress Josephine the
tiara made its way into the Swedish Royal
collection. The tiara was previously
worn by her sister Birgitta for her 1961
wedding, and also by her sister Cristina
for her wedding. It would later be worn
by the bride of HM King Carl XVI Gustaf
in 1976.
The bridal veil was made of more than
one kind of lace. The veil featured ruffled
edges, and a flower motif. The princess
wore no other jewelry.

Desiree wore a dress made of silk. The
dress had long sleeves, with a high neckline.
The dress was fitted well in the waist area and
consisted of seamed sides. The waist of the
dress scooped down, and was tightly pleated.
This also formed pleats in the long, bell shaped
skirt of the dress.

The bridal train, was of unknown length. It was
attached at the shoulders.

The bridal bouquet was of white flowers with lots,
and lots of green leaves.
